after they sent by EMS takes 2-3days.(my case, sent on FRI and I got it on MON)
from order to ship? some of item within 24~48 hours, some of special order takes more(1 week).
We must have ordered at different times or they used a different shipping method because it's been 10 day since I ordered and still nothing. I was hoping to have them by now. I don't like that there's no way to track it either to see where it is and get an idea on when it will actually show up.

took awhile for mine to arrive awhile back.....if that makes ya feel any better
Nah, not really. You got yours already so it doesn't help. :D

I was expecting a couple weeks but when ez2click posted a few days I got myself a little too excited I guess. Back to patiently waiting.

Mine finally arrived today so I'm getting set to install. Do you recall what size screws you got from Home Depot? Like a 3/4" #8 or something? If I know the size I can head down to HD now and get them before I tear my bumper off so I can have everything I need when I start.

Also, You basically connected the grounds of the LEDs to the grounds of the driving lights, correct? Then you ran a single wire to the cabin fuse block for 12v switched power... yes? I'm pretty sure that's what you did but the order you posted some pictures and some of the words you used make it a little more confusing. Was there any reason you didn't just source a switched power from the fuse block under the hood? Anytime I can keep from running wires a long ways into the cabin I prefer to do that personally. I would think there's a 10amp or 15amp switched fuse in that block too. I'll take a look when I start the install.

Why not just tie the positive into the parking lights as well as the negative (with a fuse inline of course)? Or is this a 2 wire signal/parking light car? Basically are the signal bulbs dual filament or single?
Because then they would only come on with the parking lights. To run all the time you need a switched 12v source so whenever the car is on (ACC or running) the LEDs are on which is how DRLs are wired. If you have your light stalk set to Auto the only time they would activate is at night. Same thing if you tie the positive wire into the driving lights they would only come on when the driving lights are on. You basically want these on whenever the car is on regardless of headlight/driving light status.

You are correct, sorry I was misunderstanding the point to finding a switched 12v. If having them on all the time is the goal then this is definitely the way to go.

What I typically do is wire them as I said above because I never use the auto setting on the stalk. If I want my LED's on I turn on the parking lights... it's personal preference. I like the way the car looks with parking lights and the LEDs on. Same thing with the halo lights on my BMW's.

I HATE DRL's that turn on whenever the car is on with no way to turn them off. I had BMW program that out of my cars through the LCM (light control module) because of this.

On most cars, yes. I can't stand when they run the low beam headlight as a DRL. In this case it's a LED that looks bad ass and is the whole reason for doing this so I want it run like a true DRL since that's the look I want. Just like if you had an Audi or a BMW, you wouldn't want the LED or Angel Eyes off as that's a defining characteristic of that car even in broad daylight. This is the same thing since it's a row of LEDs that don't burn out and don't consume much power.

I agree, I always ran with them on. It was force of habit already to turn on my parking lights and fog lights whenever I was in the car.

In BMW's (most, not all) you can run fogs on with just parking lights... no headlights needed. I will try to see if I can find a mod that allows that on this car as well since I love the look of fogs and parking lights during the day but may not always want the headlights on.

hey wheres the pics and everything explaining this? just got mine today obviously should have looked into it a little more but they are here and going on. thanks

You pretty much posted in the thread. Head to the start of this thread and you will see what he is describing. It's a new mod so everyone is still making it up as they go and trying new things to perfect it as people attempt it. Google is your friend.

I have yet to order mine since having a minor set back due to an uninsured motorist swiping my back bumper cover and taking some edges and paint off.... I get to go play the buy a new cover, paint it and get it back on game since I can do it better than the insurance company and body shop quotes combined. The cover is only 279.00 brand new from the dealer! but there goes my DRL project funds for the time being.

Hey man, thanks for doing the write-up and pointing me in the direction of where to get the parts. I followed your install to do mine and noticed a few things that may make it easier for others. I made a rather long winded how to here that doesn't have as many pics but is a little more descriptive. You also may want to reroute your power wire. A small hole in that boot won't hurt anything and that's why those boots are there, to protect wires from the metal firewall. If you wedge it between the two there is no insulation from the metal other than the thin jacket on the wire itself and with the wire right next to a metal edge vibration can cut through this over time and lead to power grounding out which can be bad. I would highly suggest running this wire again through the boot to save possible issues down the road. I would also wrap that wire in electrical tape at minimum and a small wire loom would be ideal to protect it. Just a few helpful tips and thanks again for taking the time to write it up.

This is a great write up! I studied it a few times before I put these in my car last night. (I ordered them from Kspec.com no affiliation or anything, just a reference) It took two weeks to get them.
Anyway I had my bumper cover off once already to change out the horns and thought I would share a bit of info to make the removal and reinstallation of the bumper a bit easier. The bracket under the headlight that is secured with three bolts does not have to be removed from the car with the bumper. The bumper cover is simply tension clipped into this bracket and if you take a longish flat blade screw driver and approaching it from the fenderwell put the blade of the screw driver between the lower portion of the bracket and the bumper cover and twist the screw driver, the cover will "unlatch" from the clips. This also makes the reinstallation much easier as after you hang the top of the cover under the hood, you can simple position the bumper cover over those two brackets you didn't take off and with a simple push, snap it back into place.

PS I wired mine as shown in this thread, however I did add a power switch below the dash in case I need to park incognito with the engine running.

Thanks again.

Now we will have to wait and see whether the same mod would work on the Hybrid?!

This what I used to install my DRL's! Even though this is a year old thread I will bump it to help any of the noobs with installation of these!
I plan on doing this install someday soon lol

I don't care for an on/off toggle switch so the Car on/off Drls work good for me!
