Oh yeah, you absolutely could. I just think this looks better, it's easier to unclip the sides for easier access to the wheels in tight spaces, and if you have to take it down it's less cumbersome and takes up less space.

Excellent! Could it be build longer, or is it maxed out weight ratio wise vs chain strength?

I have a ton of tires living in the attic... (almost have a few spare cars up there... LOL!) This could be helpful for my extras, to open floor space!

 

As long as you add a chain to support the middle, I'm sure you could stretch it out a bit. Just be sure to attach them the same way!
