Any word yet on an actual step by step DIY install of the remote start and Evo All By-pass with pics and all? I've done an after market dvd install in my 07 Nissan Altima but I have a DIY guide from a forum site like this. It was extremely helpful but even after reading this entire post a few times I am still confused on how to install this. Bestbuy install guys are very good but are charging me $150 to install the Remote Start and an extra $30 to install the Evo All... does that sound about right? I would love to tackle this myself but not without a DIY guide with pics. Don't want to screw anything up.
Hey Baja, did you ever get it installed?

$180 is a fair price, I think you should go for it.

Unfortunately I had to travel for about two weeks. Will be home this Friday so I think I will schedule an appointment for Saturday. $180 is definitely the cheapest price I have found so far. The tech seems pretty familiar with the Evo bypass. I'll update you guys as soon as I get it done. I ordered a few more things like all the interior LED's, 6k HID's from DDM and K5 badge. Looks like I'll be busy come Friday morning.

So there still plans for a DIY with pics along the way for this install? Also when Installing this system are wires needed ot be cut, and does our car have a data link in it, I have the ex model with push to start system installed

Hey all,

Can anyone confirm this for me.

When I use my Auto-Start, the only accessories that come on are my fan blower and the steering wheel heater, if I left them in the ON position. The rear window defrost and seat warmers do not come on even if I left them in the ON position.

Is this normal, or did my remote installer miss something?

He mentioned that this is due to the actual switches not being mechanical and they reset/default to off, therefore there is no way for them to come ON when using the remote start.

Is there a way I can make these two turn on when using remote start?

Thank you in advance as this partially self defeats the purpose of having a remote starter.

your installer is right the switch resets to off after ignition is turned off. u can turn then on by using another channel from your remote start/alarm system module to control the rear deforst and seat warmers i know u can find the rear defrost at the bcm module is right next to the gas pedal i believe it's a negative input on that cicuit but with anything else that u connect to bcm and any other module make sure to test with multi meter and use a diode if not then u will have a big headache. as for the seats might be the same not sure if u can find the wire u need at the bcm or your have to go stright to the switch with a relay.

I watched a video on a guy installed a remote start, looked like all he did was tap into the wires needed for the install, did you do the same, and when you installed the relay did you tap into those wires as well or was cutting required

i didn't cut any wires at all. i always use the ( tap method) tap methop is when u strip some of the insulation of the wire your tapping into and then using a pick to seperate the wire in half that way u take your wire that needs to be tap and put it through the middle and solder then after i do that i tape and use a small zip tie/wire tie and tie the two wires together for insurance.

ok, that just made this install a whole lot easier and faster, and if needed can revert to factory stock is needed, ill go buy wire taps so I dont have to cut or solder any wires

Also if anyone is interested in doing this the parts are even cheaper then when bert bought them

Replay is about 4 bucks
Python 1401 is 82 bucks
Evo all is 65 bucks

So for around 140.00 you can do your own remote start system

Where did you get the relay from? and what is it needed for?
I just spent 30 min reading this entire thread. Berto must have answered the same questions 4-5 times. Please please please read the post from beginning to end. It will answer all of your questions.

The relay is used to switch the positive out put from the door lock actuator to negative.

After all said, I still don't understand the above terminology, never fixed anything or installed parts, equipment on a car, so, sorry to get on your nerves and maybe next time you see my name, just bypass, because I will be asking questions.

Was trying to help. In this thread is a link to every part you need. I am all about asking questions. Just suggesting reading the entire thing. It helped me understand the whole process. Not on my nerves at all.

maybe I missed it, on what page of this thread can I find a link to the relay? I came across a brand, but of course there is more than one for that brand.
