SXL Brake caliper question

I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on my 2016 Optima SXL, and so far the only thing I've found have been rotors and pads from R1 Concepts.

However, I did come across that on the 2015 SX and SXL you can directly swap the Calipers for the the Two-Piston ones found on the Hyundai XG350, significantly improving the brake performance.

My question is, does someone knows if the 2015 SX/SXL shares the same brakes as the 2016?

Thanks in advance!

Rotors are the same, calipers differ but still single piston, so in my opinion, don't waste your time. The rotors on the Kia are 12.598" and
changing to the two piston caliper a waste of time. Now if you just want to do the conversion to say you have two piston front calipers
no problem.

If it nearly locks up and anti-lock activates, how much better can it get? Only if everything increases in capacity will it deliver shorter stop times, larger rotor surfaces, larger pads and more rubber to prevent the anitlock from activating.

More pistons are usually for trucks, my old arse 4Runner has 4 piston fronts, nearly stops on a dime with no loaded trailer.

Actually the more pistons the better for keeping the pads parallel and equal pressure applied throughout the pad area. I've got a 2700 lb car with aluminum 4 piston calipers with ABS and the braking system is extraordinaire, but for everyday driving, great if the car came equipped with the multi-piston calipers, but the trouble of doing a conversion, not worth the hassle.

If appearance is wanted, better off buying caliper covers.

I'll be doing a full stage one with tune from KSR soon, and was looking at braking improvement options to go with it, hence my post.

But wanted something that would be direct bolt-on, don't want to go the modding route. So I guess, when the time comes I'll do rotors and pads upgrade and call it a day.

Thanks for your helps and suggestions... it's highly appreciated!

Just make sure you don't use the R1 Concept eline Rotors. Its well know its a cheap Rotor that warps.

Two other good options are. The Auto Zone Gold Rotors believe it or not. The cost is low and the Gold line are High Carbon Steel quality Rotors. They do not have a drilled nor slotted though. Also the Stop Techs are very good. They do have Drilled and/or Slotted.

My replacement upgrade for my cars are always either, AZ Gold high carbon or Stop Tech rotors with Akebono pads. Its all I ever use and its good stuff. At low prices too.

I also have a Brake pad question but I will start a new thread.
