Hi,

My rear parking camera started blinking maybe a year ago and my car service changed the camera to a new one. That didn't fix the problem and currently the camera doesnt work at all. Also now my navigation stopped working. Prior to this local official Kia dealer and service shop diagnosed the problem as faulty Navi-radio head unit. Brand new OEM navigation radio head unit cost around 3k€, which is a bit too deep for 2017 Kia Optima plug in hybrid (wagon).

I dealer gave me the parts number (96560-A8970WK) so that I can shop for a used one, but I cant seem to find any part with that number. I can find these ones:
96560A8AG1WK
96560-A8AG0WK
96560-D4901WK

Does anybody know if used Kia Optima Radio GPS Head Units are compatible between different models (hybrids, diesel, sedan, wagon etc)?

Thanks in advance.

First, a question, do you have a typo in the part numbers? I feel like the dealer part number matches the first listed number.

Second, something you can try is to re-flash the software/navigation maps for your Nav unit. I had a problem where my system was acting like it had failed, but I simply re-installed the map update software and that fixed the problem. However, my 2012 SX Nav unit, may be different from yours. On my system, the map update replaces the software for the entire Nav unit. So it's a good way to factory reset the unit.

So, see if you can reinstall the software for your nav unit and maybe that will fix the problem. Put another way, the diagnosis from the dealership may be not entirely correct so it's good to try to get a 2nd opinion or apply a known fix just in case. Did your dealership ever explain how they diagnosed the head unit as bad, or if there were any specific issues you can test/confirm about how the unit is bad?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah.. The first dealer part number was a typo and edited my first post by deleting it. I probably need to update the the maps and see where it takes me. I'm thinking that the SD card might be faulty but I need to investigate further.

The Main problem still is the parking camera that started acting a long time ago. First we did change the camera by another dealer, but that didnt fix the problem. After that I went to another shop who tested the wires from the camera and gearbox to the radio-navi unit. They "confirmed" that the head unit seems to be busted. Thats about it.
