Jason, they look freaking awesome my friend and it definitely pops out. It looks like you installed it yourself and I really need to learn how to do it myself as well lol. Luckily for me I got a buddy to help me out with it and I can learn it at the same time. Thanks for the pics.

Holy Guacamole Jason  Thats looks awesome like what everybody said  im just waiting for my brakes to make sound so wife would let me buy without any questions asked

I also have a mechanic that will do my brakes and rotors for $30 all around so i dont need to worry about my hands getting dirty :D

They looked great!
Did you install them yourself? I did my rotors last summer, and what a pain the rear ones were.
The fronts were stuck on and had to use a rubber mallet a few wacks. The rears came right off however the one caliper bolt placed right in the wrong spot... had to use a very basic forked wrench to remove (and then re-apply) the bolt. Ug!

$30 bucks???? That's cheaper than getting your spark plugs replaced! Haha. I still had a lot of brake pad left on mine, so just swapped out the rotors. They do look amazing! I'd make up a story the brakes are squeaking to get these! :)

Use gloves? :D Just saying! haha.
Thanks everyone!

Also recently switched out my spark plugs to the HKS M45XL's from BTR HKS M45XL Spark Plugs. Quick and easy to swap out with them being on top of the engine. Thank you Kia for that smart design! I had Denso 22 plugs prior and the ones in the picture I removed had about 15,000 miles on them. Had no issue with them, just wanted the HKS instead. They come pre gapped and car idles just fine after the swap.

Hey everyone. Seems I've neglected my showroom thread for a while. Well most of you know that I bought a Wagner intercooler to replace the stock unit. I also wrote a DIY on it and documented the process including a Dyno before and after. You can find those thread here:
http://www.optimaforums.com/forum/6-optima-engine-technical-discussion/97234-bought-wagner-intercooler.html

http://www.optimaforums.com/forum/63-diy-engine-technical/104506-how-install-wagner-intercooler.html

Simply swapping out the stock IC for the well made Wagner intercooler gave me 10 extra horsepower and increased my torque by more than 25. That's a difference you can feel! :)

Here's the group buy going on for it. And I strongly urge you to get an aftermarket intercooler, it makes a difference. http://www.optimaforums.com/forum/121-k5-optima-store/104426-wagner-tuning-performance-intercooler-group-buy-k5-optima-store.html

Ok here are some pictures (more in my two threads above):

I have some updating to my showroom to do. Got a back log of posts! LOL. Bought a Nameless Mid pipe to replace the dual 400 cel restrictive OEM mid. Boy, its a night and day difference between the two. I just tap the accelerator and the car enters spool. Sweet! The car is a bit louder too however the tone has gotten deeper! :)

Here are some pictures. It bolted onto my Nameless downpipe (both parts 3") and its currently bolted to the stock cat back. I did have to double gasket between the mid and cat back as the fitment was off by a papers width and caused an exhaust leak (double gasket fixed it)

Stock dual 400 cell mid and Nameless single 200 cell mid.

Bolts, gasket and koozie! This is a 4 bolt install using the existing hangers.

Did you have to buy the extra gasket from Nameless or did the MP come with all the gaskets/bolts you needed?

The mid pipe from Nameless came with everything I needed for the install, bolts and a gasket.

Nice build!!
Thanks! :) More pics and build info coming soon!

I'm about to pick up an EX-T and after digging through the last 11 pages.......you have helped me get some great ideas on my list of things to do. Great work on everything you did. I really like the small, subtle things like the door reflector lights, center console cup holder, and foot well lighting.

Thanks Steinfire. I think so to, its the little things that make the cars and there are just so many you can do and a lot of it doesn't cost a fortune. When you browse other peoples showrooms, looks at the little things they have done.

I have been busy on my car again this past month. Here is a low cost mod that makes a noticeable difference in the first two gears and its not too hard to do. I forgot to snap pics so I used NivlRod's pics as they are identical. To whomever is doing this to their car, make sure you torque the bolts down to the exact specifications because if you don't you will experience extra vibrations in the car. You can pick up a set here: K5 Optima Store - Kia Optima 2.0T Polyurethane Engine Mount Bushings or here: 2011+ T-GDi Lower Engine Mount Kit (Urethane) - Nameless Performance

For my next hat trick I wanted to see if I could deaden the road noise inside the cabin coming from the tires. I was doing a lot of mods this particular week and completely took off my front bumper and fenders. Wasn't too hard to start disassembling the car actually! Here are some shots of the

before:

after using 3M Thinsulate Acoustic pads above the fenders:

I also used Dynomat Xtreme on the inside of the fender wells (75-80% coverage) and if you knock on them now, they sound solid! (no pics though)

I also did the trunk lid with Dynamat Xtreme and a 3M Thinsulate Acoustic pad:
Image

Using nearly 40 square feet, I covered the inside of the trunk bed and sides as well:

I moved to the hood now and added a ring of Dynamat Xtreme as well as the 3M Thinsulate Acoustic pads:

So how does it perform, or sounds, I should say.... well I will say the engine noise is a bit more muffled and I don't really hear road noise as much from the front tires. I can hear road noise from the rear tires much more than the fronts, so something worked! As for my doors, I have plans for them, just another day. Enjoy!

Thanks guys. I did make major upgrades. Here are some more during that same week....
So with me tearing apart the front end and several components in the engine bay, here is some additional things I accomplished.

Image

Swapped out my Genesis horns for the red slick speed horns and created a custom mount to push them close to the grill or the car so they can be more easily seen.
Image

Proves you can easily do these horns AND have the upgraded Wagner intercooler!
Image

I decided to swap out my cheap HID wiring harness with a much better build dual relay harness from TRS. Just look at the difference. I will say my lights are brighter with the dual and the slight flicker is gone as well. I guess a quality harness does indeed make a noticeable difference!

Well I bought a color-matched dual A pillar pod a while back from JCSPods.com 2011 - 2015 Kia Optima A Piller Gauge Pods and its color matched to my beige perfectly. I also have a Prosport Digital Volt gauge and Prosport digital boost gauge that I was eager to hook up.
Image

Here's a picture of my throttle body spacer with a 90 degree tap on the right (home depot) that I am using to connect to my boost gauge. The tap on the left I use for vacuum for my Synapse blow off valve.
Image

Here is the digital sender for my boost gauge. You hook up the included small tube to boost and run it to this sender box which converts it to a digital signal for the gauge. I placed the sender as close as I could to minimize the small tube length. You can see where I found an extra bolt to mount it... near the factory air flow sensor.
Image

Putting the A Pillar pod on and wiring it up to the power and ground near the fuse box.
Image

Finished product!

Deym you look so busy these past few days bro! Love the new upgrades
