These are designed with replacing factory subs in mind, so should not be problem.

Thx for this, was looking for something to replace my sub for my 2015 sx turbo, this just may be the ticket.

Remember to set your expectations low. Replacing a factory sub with an aftermarket does not guarantee stellar performance. Sometimes quite the opposite. If it is replacing a wasted factory sub then that is a more understandable reason.

I have the infinity system, first the dash speakers pooched, replaced them with 2 audiofrogs each side. That was a remarkable improvement. But I think you need be careful, you cannot just replace the speakers with any speaker and see an improvement and you may see it to be worse. i.e the door speakers play pretty low, to sub range, so only the right kind of speaker would be suitable speaker and make an improvement.

Even though all the factory speakers are cheaply made, the systems and all the speakers were carefully tuned to work with the amp etc. So buying a $50 dollar speaker will not automatically give you an improvement over the $2 speaker it is replacing and quite likely would be worse.

To make the right decision, make sure the replacement speaker is of the right ohms first, and capable of playing the same range. Which is why I had to replace 1 speaker each side of the dash, with 2 speakers.

Now my sub seems to on its way out, hope this option works good, as the audiofrog is expensive, but may be worth it.

The other thing to consider is what are the factory impedance on the factory sub? If you go too high with the new one you will get no volume, to low and the factory amp may shut off. Also as it is not a direct drop in you may need to make a plate or seal it with foam/silicone. Also I would deaden the back deck as well sine it is apart. The newer sub may rattle the back deck making it sound worse than the factory sub. This happened all the time when someone would bring me their car when the dealer would be charging 600 for a new factory sub in a car. Didn't always work out the way a customer thought.
