Hi guys!

I'm getting really close to buying my first Optima (shooting for a 2014 SX) and was wondering how was the winter driving?

Especially with the more powerful turbo, is it a handicap in slippery conditions?

I'm no newbie to winter driving (20+ years of driving experience in Québec) but never driven a car that powerful...

Very few people use the word "powerful" to describe an optima, even the turbo model. From everything I have heard, they are okay in the snow, with the right tires of course.
What you want to do is find a really good set of All-Season tires, and use common sense driving practices, no matter what you drive.

Personally, I use General AltiMax RTs on my Optima. I had them on my previous car, and they were fantastic. Reasonably priced, and they'll go through slush and puddles like a hot knife. Highly recommended.
