Also, they are mounting and hard-wiring my 9500ix radar detector and smartcord to my rearview mirror.
I would not change anything on my infinti radio, it rocks!
I wish I could but I live in Central AR and Mike knows I can do all of the work myself! ha. It's funny that he was a customer of mine when I moved to Tulsa in August of 1990 and was managing "The Phonograph", when they were at 51st & Memorial, and here we are 23 years later with him owning a store.Please tell me your going to give Mike and Sandy some love and give them the business. I am sure they would take great care of you.
All infinity systems have 8 speakers, if you remove that center front speaker completely, remove the wimpy 8" sub completely, and replace the 6 remaining speakers with a quality speaker you will notice a big difference. Then you get an enclosed subwoofer w/ amp and you will be blown away.My infinity radio in my SX has 8 speakers and a subwoofer that shakes all my windows and mirrors, seriously.... I just read a optima review that says the radio is one you would find in 6 digit priced cars... Lol.
I'm sure there's better, but how much better..... And just the thought of ripping out door panels etc does not sit well with me... May cause other issues, rattling ....
You picked the exact Polk speakers I was considering when I get my Optima! (MM6501 and 651)I am having Boomers Audio of Tulsa OK perform the following.
1) Remove all stock speakers and replace with Polk Audio speakers.
2) Install a subwoofer w/ custom box and amp
3) Install an LCQ-1 to correct the stock sound coming out of the amp.
The Parts that Boomers are going to install are as follows;
2 Polk Audio DB651 (rear door speakers)
4 Polk Audio MM6501 (front dash speakers and door speakers)
1 Polk Audio D5000.5 900 Watt Amp.
1 SPL ID10D2 V.3 Subwoofer - Image Dynamics 10" Dual 2-Ohm Subwoofer
1 AudioControl LCQ-1 6-channel line output converter
I will post updates
