Hello, thought I'd "tee" this up and see if anyone has any input/advice on transmission coolers. I have a 2016 optima that I'm considering towing a 17' boat/trailer, (~ 1700 lbs)however, I'm concerned about over stressing the transmission. I live in FL so most all the driving is straight and level so hills are pretty much a non issue. If anyone has any advice (either way) i would greatly appreciate any/all input....

Thanks,

Kevin

What kind of hitch do you have - doesn't the boat and trailer exceed the hitch rating? Sorry, I'm hoping this question is related enough to the topic. I don't know about a transmission fluid cooler so cannot comment on that.

As Kia doesn't reommend any towing, I'd certainly would use a cooler of some type and cross your fingers.
As far as a hitch, guess class 1 would be sufficient, 200 # tongue, 2000# limit.
