I want to put a set of 17s on my 2014. I was given a set of 225/65x17 tires brand new. After putting them up against the factory 16s they look like they will be too big. I like the fat tire look over the thin tires. Should I just have them mounted up and see what they do? Or can someone recommend a different size tire for a 17 wheel?

I see alot of people run a 19 or even 20 inch wheels on these cars. I will be lowering the car by 1.5inchs soon.

Thanks

I'd say sell them and purchase the correct size. The OEM 17" size 215/55-17 is 26.3" diameter, I have 225/55-17 26.8", but the 225/65-17 is a whopping 28.5".
Way too tall and would have a 5 mph difference in speedometer.

I’m running 18’s with a 245 45 and it fits fine, only rubs cause the stock coils are so big

Had to smile on that one, fits fine but rubs, guess it doesn't fit fine.
Those 245 tires only have a 26.68" diameter, and that's almost 2" less than the 225/65-17.
