Over the last few days the steering wheel on my 2011 hybrid remains locked after I start the car. Putting the car in Drive, Reverse or Neutral doesn’t unlock the steering wheel.
Turning the car off and on repeatedly doesn’t unlock the steeling wheel.
The car will drive forward and backwards, but the wheel won’t turn.
So far, the wheel has eventually unlocked every time, but there doesn’t seem to be any consistency with what I’m doing. It’s like the car just decides it’s time to unlock the wheel.

To help an ultimate Svc visit .... When Locked... Play with the small Tab that you usually depress (just above Gear Letters P N D) WHEN the Gear Lever won't move out of Park.
Wondering IF this mechanism is part of the problem and fix..

Thanks for the suggestion. It didn’t work, but it did lead me to a temporary fix.
I start the car. Put it in Neutral. Press the start/stop button to turn the engine off. Put the car in park. Press start/stop again to completely turn the car off. Then press start and my steering wheel works😁
This procedure worked three times in a row.
