SS Braided Break Lines?

1356 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  [email protected]
Does anyone know of a reliable vendor to purchase ss braided brake lines? I have looked several places and can't find them. I am going to Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in September for some fun. I would like to upgrade my brakes system with better pads and braided lines for the track. This will be my first track day, and have been told this is the minimum I should do. Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

I am "Momentarily" Broke for projects because of this motor situation.... As soon as I can re-build some funds, these will be in production. Oh, and a HUGE disclaimer to sign.

They don't have anything for our application.... Sad, yes.

Sign a waiver/disclaimer in order to purchase brake lines? Never seen or heard of that before...

The OP shouldn't expect miracles to happen with this chassis any time soon - there will not be any performance parts made for the forseeable future.

Go to a hydraulic store (Hydraulic Supply, for instance) with a stock one for your car and ask to have some made up. Probably be the most expedient thing to do. VIR is a fast track - having driven it myself back in the Honda days you are definitely going to need an upgrade in the brake department. If nothing else, exchange your OEM brake fluid with Motul RBF600 or higher.

Asher,

We're not incorporated as of yet. Because of this, I cannot accept the liability that would come along with a brake line if it were to fail or if someone were to install it improperly and end up in a serious accident. Yes the percentages are EXTREMELY minimal, but it's not something that I can play around with lightly. If it's being branded as my own product, then this is a liability I have to accept. If there were other reputable companies selling these at a pricepoint that was actually profitable for the reseller and a great MSRP, then it would've happened faster. The companies currently making these know that there's a market for them but won't really offer amazing pricing on the sets even when picked up 50 at a time or so....
I hate all of you so much right now! :) Thank you for the info Starbucks, I will try you suggestion.

Karbon,
You need to just start selling your brake lines. :) Why wait until everyone else has them to start production, your just going to miss the window.

Unfortunately, I haven't had them "produced yet." Additionally, I am broke because I just paid $5260.33 for a brand new motor. ;)

I had one set made while my car was down for a few weeks...
