The driver side seat in my 2017 Optima Hybrid EX has accumulated what is either some ground in dirt, or some dye. I frequently wear black slacks, so I suspect it might actually be the ink/dye that is used in my pants.

I've had the seats cleaned at a car wash, but not fully detailed. That got some of the discoloration out, but it was still noticeable. Any other suggestions, or should I just pony up for a full detailing?

I actually have an interior/upholstery insurance policy, so if necessary I could get the thing reupholstered, but I'd probably try to convince them to use another color. The white is attractive, but it gets discolored pretty quickly.

I've actually seen videos of people using a Magic Eraser with quite a bit of success. I think the key with using that is to just use very very light pressure and to wipe frequently.

I've seen leather upholstery ruined from the dye in jeans. Once in the leather it's a goner.
