Hello everyone

I have a 13 SWP optima that I am planning to lower with ark springs.

I found a wheel that I would love to put on the car but unsure of how the offset will work.

The 20x8.5 has a 20 or 40 offset aval.

The 20x9.0 has a 30mm offset aval.

Will either of these work? Would wheel spacers change anything?

I would say only 20x8.5 at 40 offset would work. 20x8.5 at 20 offset and 20x9.0 at 30 offset are too aggressive imo..

So if I understsand you correctly, lower offsets stick the wheel further out from the inside of the wheel well; if thats the case spacers will not help becuase they would just continue to push the wheel out.
Will the 20x8.5 have a nice flush look?
Recomended tire size?

Yes. The lower the number, the further the wheels are gona stick out. And the spacers are not gona help. Well, they might if you find 20x8.5 at 40 offset not flush enough.

most people run 245/35/20.

What about this
20x8.5 40mm front
20x10 40mm back
Would that work as is?
Or would adding a 5mm spacer in rear make it work?

20x10 with 5mm spacer putting it at Et 35 would not be possible.

20x10 et 40 should work depending on tire size.

front at 20x8.5 et 40 will work all day long. i am 20x9 et 40 with 235 tire and a bit of room to spare.

Why would 20x10 et 35 not work/
There is a member on here "KORE" running the following:
20x8.5 35mm on 225/35/20
20x10 35mm on 245/35/20
Lowered on 1.75" on d2 coilovers

I mean its fine if it doesn't; I just want to make the right decision before purchasing.
You believe 20x10 40mm will work better than 35mm on the back?

that is 1.5 inches wider having 20x10 with thte same offset. it would stick out too far.

You sure those are his specs? Thats pretty aggressive.

he says on 2nd page the wheels are 35 all around
Anyways, will the 20x8.5 40mm 20x10 40mm look nice and flush dropped on ark springs? Rubbing issues?
Rubbing depends on the tire. And even if they're not flush, just run like 2-5mm spacers, depending on how much more poke you want, and just call it a day. I mean that's the easiest way imo. As you see already, getting the PERFECT fitment, like super perfect is so complicated lol

20x10 et 40 should work for the rear and 20x8.5 et 40 front you will have tons of room.

here's a picture to help the OP.

wheel fitment is a skill and preference that is best learned on your own. Personally I'm running 18x9.5 +30 up front and 18x9.5+22 in the back. ;)

Have you ever posted a pic? I don't remember seeing one. Please post a pic if you didnt!! I would love to see that aggressive fitment along with your coils :D

I haven't posted up pictures of the car since around Christmas time - but they are coming. I should have some free time in the next couple weeks to snag some decent pictures in Houston. -Asher /thread jack

I spoke with Element Wheels today and basically it boils down to this.
If I run a 10", I will need to stretch a 245 tire, really stretch the tire, making the wheel poke beyond the tire.
I'm find with a straight edge wheel/tire appearance, but wheel poking out past tire, not for me.
So it appears that I will have to run 20x8.5 40mm on all four corners.
