Spotted this on the Concept3 website:


I noticed there isn't one for the 2.4L NA Engine, but that's for later...

My biggest questions are:
What exactly is this gizmo, and why does it cost so much?
Does it provide real-world gains, not just ones only detectable on a dyno?
Are the gains it's purported to provide worth the cost?
Will installation of this part lead to long-term damage?

It looks like an easy way to boost power, but it seems too good to be true. Plus, the price tag is quite steep...

Thoughts?

Not knowing a great deal about real world power increase as they say, I'd venture a guess that it would change power/torque to a lower rpm just by changing when the VVT occurs.
Personally, I wouldn't touch it, but if I were going to spend $500 I'd get a true tune as you know that would change boost, timing, A/F ratio and all done properly in conjunction with one another....hopefully.
