Hi Everyone,

I have a 2016 Optima GT (SX in the US) and recently noticed that one of the rubber seals between the panoramic roof and the plastic roof trim is too short on side (please see attached photos).
It doesn't look like it has been torn off or cut - nor shrunk as it looks fine on the passenger side.
I also haven't experienced any water leaks coming in.

Is this normal? Is it the same on all Optimas for 'maintenance' purposes?

I don't know if this is something that has always been this way or happened recently as I just noticed this by mistake.

Many thanks!

Hello and welcome to the Optima Forums.

Congrats on getting your 2016 Optima GT/SX.

This is definitely not normal, and not something standard you would see on other models.

I would bring it into the dealer to see if it can be replaced under warranty.

Hi David,

Thanks a lot for your reply!

I will definitely take it in as the 70.000 km service is coming up anyway. Hope the warranty will cover it.

Hi Marton,

You're very welcome. Let us know what they say when you bring it in for service.
