I received "free oil changes for life " as well as free car washes for "life" . My first oil change I was charged a small fee less than 10.00 no big deal for some taxes and disposal fee. My second oil change i Mr Lube because it was close to my house and took less than 15 minutes . .This time 16,000 KLMS my dealership called me in for my one year service and was quoted about $215.00 for a bunch of stiff ( break check, tires rotated , etc etc )which included my oil change . I asked " maybe i will skip the other stuff and just have oil changed for "free" and here is their response Free Oil change is only with service package and its in your contract Well I need my front fender plastic skirt replaced anyways so I will pay their maintenance fee .. As a warning becareful about free oil changes for life .They are not so free .

lol, don't get me started with the Richmond and marine drive kia stealership!

you are correct! the free oil change only applies for none synthetic oil. All the turbo models require synthetic oil. you also have to agree to all the other suggested maintenance and pay them, if you want your free oil change!
i was charge $35 extra for synthetic oil. not to mention, their service tech had over filled my engine by a liter!
i got into a huge debate and argument with them. all they said to me was. "we understand you're frustration...." thats it! lol
after the debate and argument call, the dealership wiped me out of their system for good. never did i get a call from them.

good thing im a ex mechanic. i do all the work myself.

beware van buyers!

I have found Vancouver Kia ( Marine DR) to be pretty decent .I am so un mechanical that I require someone to do almost everything >I can fill my gas tank but that is about all . The oil and lube is not a big deal to me but voiding my warranty is and I don't want to give them any excuse not to honor warranty work
