Hey, I've made a few posts in the audio threads but I'm overdue for my into post.

Military member here in Florida (pan-handle). I've got 2003-2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 background. My first, was a stock turbo with bolt-ons yellow '03, traded that for the Orange '05. I took that all the way up to Stage 3 AGP turbo, ported polished, 50/50 meth injection the whole works pushing close to 450whp. Sold it before basic and I miss it. Leased a few Jeeps since.

Bought the new 2020 optima SX about a month ago and I love it so far. I got some ideas for mods which is giving me the itch to build it out. I'll be talking to you Dave @ K5 Optima Store :ROFLMAO:

I will say, I've spent most of my time here the last few days in the 4th Gen Forum and its not as active as I hoped. I've just about skimmed all 23 pages of topics... :/

Welcome and good luck with the car, but got to get that HP up as you probably know the '11-'15 2.0T see 274HP, 17.5lb boost.

I didn't know that. What makes the big difference between those numbers and the newer 2.0 T only pushing 245HP?

Although the >2016 2.0T has a 10:1 compression ratio compared to the '11-'15 9.5:1, most all internal parts are different, intake, crank pulley, valve cover, timing cover, camshafts, etc,
along with a smaller turbo.

Don’t they get the torque at lower rpms vs the 11-15s where it was much higher around 4500 rpm?

They made the >'16 more derivable, but in doing so they now have less performance.
The >'16 has 245hp @ 6000 and torque 260 @ 1350
290hp @ 6000 and torque 269 @ 1750.
You can see that as far as performance is concerned it falls short.
Depending on the article, 0-60 1/4 mile:
274hp 6.5 14.6
245hp 7.3 15.6

The explosiveness of the 274 HP in the higher rpm ranges has been reduced with the 245, but I believe they tried to make up the difference with lower gear ratios in the trans. That didn't work, and some articles even portrayed the LX 1.6T to be faster just because of the additional weight of the Turbo car. I really can't prove that as incorrect, but in my mid the 2.0T 245 has a substantially better HP/Wt ratio that would keep it well ahead of the 1.6T.

That 274HP vehicle is a blast when driving at highway speeds. I know on our trips to Florida running 50/80 mph and when pickup is needed, it comes on in a hurry.

Disappointed in the 2016+ performance numbers--my 3-ton 6L 16-year old SUV can just about equal those numbers...and possibly exceed them if it weren't for the heavy-a** 22" wheels it's running on.
