I recently bought a 2010 Kia Optima, and it’s been great so far! Only had a couple little quirks here and there. However, there is a problem that happens from time to time. I live in Syracuse, NY and it gets pretty cold up here during the winter. Sometimes after I start my car up, I will go to turn my wheel sharp to make a turn and the battery light comes on and my steering becomes stiff. When I turn the wheel back to straight the light goes back off. The problem goes away as my car warms up though. Like steering feels fine after 10 minutes of driving or so. Sometimes also my belt slips. Only lasts for a second and it’s okay. I checked my belt and it looks like it’s in good shape, no frays or anything. Could it be my tensioner? Or a faulty power steering pump? Please help because I’m worried this a problem that could become catastrophic in the future. Thanks!
