I went from a 2010 GenCoupe 2.0T to a 2013 GenCoupe 2.0T to the 2013 Optima SX-T. Until I had the Optima, the GenCoupe was the best car I ever had. I liked the Optima better. Much more comfortable. Both cars (both rebadged) got a LOT of attention. I really missed RWD, though.
It's a no-brainer for me now. I have to have 4 doors. Both for my family, and because I end up taking adults places quite a bit due to the nature of my job. But, I wanted RWD, and more horsepower, so I just made the jump to an Infiniti Q50 Premium.
FWIW, the GenCoupe certainly *feels* faster. If you can swing the 3.8, that might be enough to make the rest of the concessions worth it. If not, I'd stick with the Optima. You can always replace the fender vent/markers.
