My car has been sitting in the lot for 10 days and I can not get the diagnostics ran at the dealership. Took to autozone before i dropped it off-knock sensor issue. Who can tell me if Kia will reimburse for a rental.. how much and how many days. I am about to contact an attorney to see what my options are as this is the 2nd optima we got (rolling over so much negative equity from the first one-we traded due to the same issue) and now I am stuck in this car..I can not trade it as I am buried in negative equity.. again! Does not seem fair that I have to miss work and have no car to get around due to the recall ontop of a recall.

I got stuck on "...I can not get the diagnostics ran at the dealership...".

Why not?

What model and MY is it? Still under 'standard' warranty?

The vehicle is still under warranty. Has 65k but it was there 13 days and finally they had time to run the diagnostics. Now I have to wait for Kia to tell them what they want them to do next.. more tests or repair engine.. could take days to find out what kia says, meanwhile I am without a car. Rental only reimburses once kia approves the repair. and for 10 days from what I am hearing. A new engine can take 3-4 more weeks!

Ask for a loaner. 3-4 weeks is a lie. Engines are on a major backorder. list dealers have 10-25: cars on their lots needing engines. As far back to 7/22-9/22.
More like 3-4 months if you're lucky enough to be approved. I'm sorry to say, but you probably won't be approved. There's 3.9 million of us that are in the same boat... more like freightliner, as you. Kia/Hyundai are only approving an average of 33-36% of the required 100%. If you have a Facebook account, go to engine Failure- kia/Hyuandi. There's a bunch of people and info there. I've posted court records, documents, attorneys and complaint numbers.
Good luck! Hopefully see you there. I rarely check here..
