i was driving my kia on the interstate and it made a whirling noise then the hybrid system warning came on said to pull over safely and do not drive. the car was still running but when you press the gas pedal it would not go. had it towed home. next day same thing, it will crank up but will not go when you press the gas pedal. anyone have any ideas?

I got the same message while parking but no noise or anything, so I guess the message can apply to several things. In my case the internal code says is the generator sensor (I ordered a new one in ebay and the code has not come back).

Do you checked what error code you got? with something like Car Scanner app and ELM327 bluetooth dongle

Yes, i checked it today and it said glow relay short circuit. and lost communication with hybrid powertrain control module. i reset the codes with the scanner and the hybrid system warning went away and came out of limp mode and i was able to drive it but as i was test driving it around the block it started making a tapping noise so i just came back home and parked it.
