I'm trying to replace the shift knob on my optima but it wont even budge, anyone know how to get it off?

Try this, put lever in neutral, loosen the leather boot around the stem by unclipping from the console, then pull straight up.

^^ This, did the same thing and hit my forehead pretty good back in the day when I swap it out for the New Faces shift knob

Sorry don’t know the answer to this one but Turbonut might have an idea as he’s much more familiar with car modding!
