Hello Everyone, My name is Miguel. I live in New Jersey near NYC. I have a Pearl White Kia Optima SXL 2013 that I bought new in August 2012 with now 96K Miles. I have been reading through a lot of threads in the past for simple car mods. I decided to join now because I would like to take my car mods to the next level while also being able to pass Emission Test in the State of New Jersey.

I took advantage of the black Friday sales and just bought the LAP3 Uncle Chip, HKS M45XL SP, Add W1 V3 OCC, Passenger Sear Riser, Canbus Control Module, and White 3.0K logo Emblem from K5 Optima Store.

I plan on upgrading my air intake, intercooler, downpipes, & Midpipe down the line.

Welcome and just remember that the NJ emission test is nothing other then checking at the OBDII for codes. If no CEL on, you'll be golden.

Not much maintenance to these cars, what, change oil/filter when it's do, but with the crappy engines, luck of the draw also helps. The engines are going out at 25k miles-190k miles.

You are probably right, but I think there is also a factor of Kia's hit or miss reliability and quality control.
