I’m curious if anyone else has seen or used this remote start. I’ve been looking into getting one for my 2013 Kia Optima EX. I was going to use my key premium since it’s all plug and play they are about 300$ - a member of one of the k5 optima groups I’m in on Facebook made a post that he installed his remote start for under $40. It’s OEM Kia remote starter and is basically plug and play. It comes with an extra remote but he was somehow able to program it to use his OEM key fob. He said it works great and only had to splice one wire. The part number is #2T056ADU20 if you Google it there are a few different websites offering it for around $11 that’s for the complete remote start system.

That is crazy cheap so I figured I’d pass on the info. It’s only for optimas that have push to start. Let me know if anyone else has bought one? These are the same units Kia will install at the dealership. The key fobs are a bit outdated looking but can’t complain much for 11$ remote starter - especially if you can program it to use your original key to start the car.

UPDATE - I did notice it says it only fits 2012-2013 models. I thought that was a bit strange that the 2011 isn’t included since 11-13 models are all the same. I’ve also noticed there’s another model number 2t056-ADU02 that looks like the exact same thing but says it fits 2011-2013 models. The other difference is they are all 300$ and more. So not sure what that’s all about. Can’t find anything on the internet that shows what the difference between the two are. Maybe I’ll call the dealership on Monday and ask.

Problem with the factory remote start is that the range is poor, only the distance the OEM FOB works, but for only $11, might be worth it.
Yeah can’t really complain for 11$ lol - it does come with additional fobs but I’ve seen people that were able to use the OEM fob. The Mykeypremium is the same way it uses the OEM fob so like you said you don’t get a ton of distance but it’s decent enough. Also the Mykeypremium is over 300$ for pretty much the same thing as what this one will do

From my understanding it’s pretty easy I was reading through the directions that it comes with doesn’t require anything extra you just have to pair it by holding down a button
So where did you get yours from? I just tried Dade kia and they replied it is on backorder for a month or so. Really need it during the cold months only.
So I called my local dealer and they would sell it for about $20 but it is on national backorder...
Am now trying to order from Tasca.

There’s multiple websites that have it in stock.

I linked a few up above. I purchased mine from..

They are an actual dealership in my area and they ship quick. As for tasca after looking into them a bit more I decided to stay clear. They have absolutly horrible reviews - so many from people saying they didn’t receive there parts for months. If you do order one let me know how it works out for you.

You can also find out the part number for your specific car ( not sure if it’s the same one I linked above) and then just Google it and it will bring up all the websites that have it. The prices seem to range from about 11$ - 40 depending what one you choose to order from.

Haven’t heard of it and it sounds a bit dodgy to me.

It’s the same exact remote starter that the Kia dealership would put in your vehicle if you went there and asked for a remote start add on. It’s OEM made by Kia. Plenty of people in the optima k5 groups have purchased it and it works great. It’s almost the exact same system as Mykeypremium’s aftermarket remote start that they charge $300+ for.

Here’s a link of one of the members that installed it recently.

Wow I’ve seen a few other people mention that as well. Some said they were told about a month on back order. What websites did you order from? Did they just send you an email saying it was back ordered after you placed the order? Try your local Kia dealership as well and see if you get lucky

Dade and Tasca had to cancel my order. Local dealer said no stock so I didn't order.

I think the difference is one is for a push button start, aka "Smart Key", the more expensive one seems to be for cars with a real key.
