Hi all.. My 2014 Optima EX is starting to burn alot of oil . . 135000 miles.. Had the KSDS update done so if bearing goes i am covered there for "debris" issue.. I have read in some places that they will replace the engine also for excessive oil use.. Is it worth it to get an oil comsumption test done at the dealership or will they just say it is the rings and not cover it?? Or should I just keep adding oil and if it goes get it replaced under recall.. I have heard different things... I guess what i am saying is do i want to bring attention to the problem if they are not going to replace the engine or just wait and if it fails hopefully it gets covered under recall... Thanks for any help....

If the engine is consuming more than a quart per 1k, get the dealer to monitor with oil consumption testing. Keep building additional defensive evidence....More-the-better..
