Email from my my Dealer:

You've been selected to take part in our vehicle exchange program. ----- Kia has been authorized to discuss a unique pull ahead program that enables us to pay all of the remaining 12 payments of $---.-- on your 2013 KIA OPTIMA lease when purchasing or leasing your next vehicle. You now qualify for this unique opportunity and we would like to meet with you at your earliest convenience. To participate in this program by August 31th 2015, please reply to this email to schedule a VIP Appointment with your Vehicle Exchange.

My question is, has anyone received something like this before and is it legit? Or are they assuming I would agree to roll all 12 pymnts into a new lease?

TIA

Every car manufacture does that and the program is heavily subsidized by the manufacturer to "push" you toward another of their products .Mostly it is legit but generally you don't get anything for nothing and I suspect a great deal has to do with the value of your car vs the remaining un-amortized portion of your lease and eh residual .

Thanks for the replies. I since emailed the guy and have not heard back. For one thing my car is pristine, with only 12k miles. With that said, if they can put me into a 2015 SXL for the same monthly payments or less with a sign n drive lease like I got on my current one, I might bite. We'll see what happens.

I got this once when I had my forte. I went there saying I wanted an Optima, but they said it was only suppose to be for the same model. But I ended up getting an Optima with no money down, but I had higher monthly payments.

The higher payment was probably from going from a Forte to an Optima.

I just bought a 2015 sx turbo, and after 2 weeks (after trading in a 12 ex turbo) getting emails from the dealership saying they want my car and could upgrade me to a newer car at no extra cost.

Lol

These emails are spam to drum up sales

Good to know. I emailed the dealer and they never replied. Their loss I guess.

Update: The dealer called me yesterday and told me that this is legit, and Kia will take care of my remaining payments and put me in a 2015. I told the guy I want a 2015 SXL for the same deal I got 2yrs ago. He said he will get back to me with the numbers.

Update, the dealer never did get back to me. I guess it was B.S. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. I'll just wait out the rest of my lease. The new Maxima has caught my attention anyway.

This is BS masquerading for a good deal, but still a BS. I've tried to go that route many times, but at the end the payments (if there are few remaining) are being rolled to the new lease, or they buy the car out from the finance company and roll the negative equity. There is a contract that owes an X amount of money to the bank. The dealership wouldn't just pay it because they are the good guys.

roll

It's not BS nor a scam. I actually took my dealership up on the roll-out/upgrade program about 4 months ago. I had a 2013 SX-T with 4 months left on the lease. With this program, they took on the remainder of my old lease, upgraded to a 2015 SX-T with premium package, AND they ate the 30K mile service I had originally taken my car in for that day, which was roughly $400. All this for the same monthly payment as my previous lease. Now, your situation and dealership may be different how they'd work with you, but it's certainly an option if you're interested in upgrading/rolling into a new lease.

That being said, I kind of wish I would have just finished my lease and considered something different. I'm not a fan of the ride in the 2015 model (something you really don't figure out until you've driven it for a few days) and miss the bit more sportiness of the 2013. Not to say I don't like my new lease, but should have at least test drove some other options out there.
