Going to get some $20 strips from Amazon. I know they are not going to be bright enough to use as DRL’s I just want them for the sequencing turn signal. Can I wire them up just using the wire for turn signal or do I need to hook up all wires?

They're actually quite bright, maybe not DRL bright but they throw a lot of light out. Yes, you can wire them into existing turn signal wires, if they don't work, flip the wires around. Post some pics.

Got them hooked up. Looks ok, not very bright in the sun but I knew that going in. Tried to add a video of them working but can’t figure out how to do that

You'd probably be better off doing the fender vent conversion... That way, you get a side dedicated turn signal, plus a neat running light position many people don't use. Just be sure to use the modules from Diode Dynamics. They're pricey, but the best you can buy for that application.
