Dealer service impressing me less with each visit.

I've only got 15,000 miles on my 2013 Optima, but have had all 3 oil changes done by the dealership. First and third were free, the second one ended up being free, as it took them TWO hours to get it done. First time, they recommended rotating tires, which I went ahead and had them do at twice the price I pay at the little Mexican tire shop down the street. Just noticed today that my maintenance book has a couple of coupons for half-price tire rotations. Of course nobody at the dealership mentioned this.

Today was my third oil change - only took an hour on a Monday morning, with very few cars seemingly in the service area. No biggie, but they did try and sell me a cabin filter for $60 and a "fuel induction service" for $119. Found the filter online for $15 and several forum posts saying that Kia doesn't even recommend a "fuel induction service", that it's all dealership driven. On top of that, both side view mirrors, rear view mirror, and seat were in amazingly different positions than they were when I went in. Not sure what made all that necessary. I understand that dealerships make their money not on selling cars, but on service after the fact. Still, not sure they need to try and completely screw their customers in the process.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Sounds like my local Wal-Mart which I will never go back to, even on a Sunday if it is the only place open, which took 4 freaking hours to get a tire put on my F-150. I was 2nd in line when I got there @ 9AM with 1 vehicle in front of me that was getting 2 new tires which was already being worked on... I talked to many people that had been waiting 2 hours to get their oil changed. I asked for an oil change as well originally but after 4 hours put on a new tire and hearing all the complaints, No Thanks Jeff, Ill do it myself when I get home... I have never in my life seen a place so slow or lazy, take ur pick, & they had 10 employees working in the 3 bays... Da Faq?
You just can't get anywhere with dealers or shops these days. Had my EX-T in a while back and had one rear rotor replaced as it was scored pretty bad. Dealer changed the rotor under warranty and now the front rotors are warped. Dealer says its not worth turning the rotor as the pads are at 50% and there would not be enough material left to turn the rotors when the pads are worn. WTF.
If the rotors are warped then they should just change them under warranty. Not impressed as the car is on 14 months old with 30k on it.
This is also the second dealer I have been to as I refuse to go back to the dealer which sold me the car.

I ran into a similar problem with my F-150 as well... Places dont want to turn rotors anymore they want to sell you new ones... I was told I needed 2 new rotors & brake pads by 2 places, one being the Ford dealership. Took it to a 3rd shop a guy at work told me about. The owner said, we just need to turn ur rotors and replace the brake pad's & you will be good to go... WTF? Needless to say they earned my business & saved me quite a bit of $$$, sucks they only work on American made cars... LOL...

In your case they should replace the warped rotor if they are not going to try and turn them... That is horrible service!
