I have a 2014 Optima 2.4 litre. I am in California. The car has 90,000 total miles now. The engine was changed one year ago on the recall. Slowly it has developed an exhaust leak in the engine compartment. The dealer inspected it and said it has a cracked flange and the manifold/converter needs replaced. They said it is not covered by warranty. They wanted $2,500. We left. At home, I inspected the engine and found a crack after the manifold where it joins the main pipe to the converter.crack. It is not what I would call a flange. My mechanic said to take it back to the dealer and discuss it further. Emissions equipment, and this part is mentioned specifically, is warranted by the Feds and State for 80,000 miles or 8 years. Opinions?
