Huh. This doesn't look like it affects my car (2017 Optima Hybrid.) I've tried going to a few recall sites (Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book) to verify this, and none of them mention a recall of the size mentioned on that Canadian site. And I just got back from getting the car serviced at the dealership and no one said a word. I wouldn't expect them to volunteer information, but they'd be legally obligated to mention a recall forced by a gov't agency.

Your car must be golden, no recalls.

THe Hybrid models are all made in Korea and shipped over here. This will affect US made cars and their owners. I see cash back or significant vouchers for new vehicles or possibly some other options. I'll follow this for sure!

Hello, just checking to see if you got anywhere with your hybrid. My Kia Optima hybrid is currently at a Kia and they are telling me it is not under the recall because it is a different engine even tho it is the same exact problem.! Any info would help, thanks !

Just out of curiousity, what year and mileage?
The hybrids aren't covered under the recall, but if your engine is kaput,
it isn't the first 2.0 gas engine to go.

I am thinking about starting a class action against Kia for their Hybrid vehicles . I have read numerous of complaints from car owners from their hybrids with the SAME EXACT problem as the theta II engines. So disappointing. Many of us have been effected and there has been nothing we can do about it.

I agree, don't know how many of the gas engines have gone south, but there have been quite a few on the Forum.

I just sumbmitted my complaint to top class actions! I encourage you to do that same, let’s get justice 🙌🏾

KIA just needs to do a major buyback program. Exactly how VW bought back all of their TDI cars for the emissions scandal.
