Blind side detection is flipped - Control does not turn on/off

I have a 2019 Optima EX and I purchased the vehicle with 7k miles and had one minor accident in the rear. Ever since I purchased the vehicle the blind side detection could never be turned on and off. The mirror warning works BUT it is flipped. ex: a car is on my rear right and the left mirror illuminates. car is on my left and the right mirror illuminates. Also, the system overall works when using turn signals (will beep and alert in the correct direction) , in reverse, etc..

I took it to the dealer last year still under warranty but they denied the warranty fix since the accident was not repair by Kia.

I've been wanting to remove the bumper to see if the sensors are flipped or were connected incorrectly (as per dealer techs assumption). Planning on removing bumper this weekend and investigating but wanted to see if anyone had any insight or an easier diagnosis to do before removing bumper.

And for the smart alecks here, no I don't rely on this system. I earned my license using mirrors! Lol. It's just something minor that has been bugging me and finally going to get around to try and resolve.

Any help appreciated!

Update:

Removed bumper and checked BSW/parking sensor cables. I detached the clips holding the cables to the reinforcement bar to see if I can flip the cables, basically to reconnect everything everything on the opposite side. However, i noticed the clips were specific to the holes in the reinforcement bar so didn't look like that was ever messed with. I reconnected the clips and left the cables as is.

I investigated the BSW sensors and all looked well for the most part. However, i proceeded to remove each side , noticed some dust was over the sensor and dusted it off with a dry rag and wiped housing down. I also cleaned the area behind the bumper where the sensor goes since I already had it off. I did the same to both sides and the only thing I can think of was to swap the sensor from each side. I did so and reconnected everything.. walked to the driver side and saw the BSW light on!!! Never have I've seen that light on!! I was able to turn on/off the bsw system and all looked perfect!! I mounted the bumper back all went back into place just as it was before . Had some annoying trouble putting the screws in the wheel well on jist because of the tight fit but besides that everything was pretty easy!!!

Super happy that this system is back up and working now !!!! Had the car since 7k miles and the system never properly worked... Will take it for a test drive tomorrow to PA and hopefully it makes driving this beauty that much better !!! Hope this helps anyone.. happy MDW!

Ps

Don't mind the packed trunk. My gf is using the car fulltime and we know how women keep their cars LOL

What do you think was the problem before? Maybe something was loose? I don't see how swapping the sensors could have fixed it, because aren't both sensors identical to each other?
You're right! Swapping the sensors really didn't make a difference. I'm not sure exactly what it was because the connections definitely were tight when i removed them. Maybe cleaning the face of the sensor did something? It did have a light layer of yellowish dust not sure if that's from possible body work or just road pickup. But cleaning it and i guess reseating connection did the job to at least allow me to turn the service on/off .. however the flipped illumination is still happening .. i will try flipping the cables next time around and see if that makes a difference if that still doesn't resolve issue it has to be an issue up front I'm assuming..
