If it's any consolation, you're not alone as many have had the paint problem. I haven't had any on our '11 SWP, but others have had paint just peel off, and not an easy or inexpensive fix.

Yep. Talked about on threads a lot. My wife’s 14 sorento had the same issue. The body shop said the paint didn’t adhere to the primer properly during paint. Had to strip down to metal. So far the hood was the only issue for us.

Using a pressure car wash?

Seen this happen to a lot of brands. Saw a Dodge Ram pickup get its paint lifted coming out of a car wash. Looked like a square foot of paint was loose. Oddly, it was white too. Owner wasn't happy.

Could be some rock puts a nick in the paint and then the pressure washer gets in and peels the layers. I tend to prefer going to or using a hand wash. Even the headlights seem to clould over less doing so too.

Nope all hand wash. This happened when driving on highway. Started from a rock chip
