Can't find a posting with precisely our problem. We bought this Optima in the past year. The passenger front window is not used often at all. We havent ever had a problem rolling it down after it has been up for days/weeks/months with either driver or passenger control. Most of the time, though, the window will not roll up (or down further) with either driver or passenger control once it is partially or fully down. It might go up an inch here and there. If you wait it our for 5-10 minutes, it will eventually go up all the way. We usually keep it locked out to avoid this.

This would appear to be a motor issue since it affects both controls, but i didn't want to rush to a conclusion. Any thoughts?

I also say motor. Being that it won't move either way after stopping.

Thought I would ask, was the car ever hit on the passenger side?
When window moving, moves as fast as the driver's side?
If there was a problem with alignment, the motor would work harder and possibly overheat, so spray the window channels with silicon to see if any difference.
