Decided to pull the trigger and purchase a Hornblasters outlaw (flatlaw) train horn kit for my optima ex 2.4L Im planning on sound dampening the spare tyre location and storing the 3L tank and compressor kit there and then using the rest to sound dampen the truck. We'll see how it pans out...

Hello all, As the title suggests, one day my mirrors stopped folding when I lock the car. The confirmation horn on the second click of the key fob stopped working as well. I checked and the mirror motors still work, when I flip the switch they fold and unfold. I’ve searched through for forums...

I have a 2013 SX Turbo, 116,000 miles on it. Recently I was driving in heavy traffic and honked at someone about to come into my lane on top of me, and when I did it's like the whole electrical system shorted--the AC started blowing warm air, the brakes were "heavy" and not responsive, same with...

Just ran across these: Mini Transducer Array with Enclosure With a little work, and an Arduino, you can create a replica of the LRAD. If someone were to array three or four of these behind your grill, could we use them as an ultra 150DB or louder car horn? The reason an LRAD would be...

See picture. This power socket/connector on the horn sits firmly, and I do not know how to loosen it. I dare not use violence beyond the three-finger strength. What is the secret of loosening it? It looks like the serration at the lower end suggests that I should squeeze there, but there is no...

THIS is a '16 SXL like mine, and 111 dB shows on the horn data. The 400-500 Hz dual PIAA's are 115 dB and are considered sufficiently LOUD. Some Subjectivity aside, Are our horns considered "about-as-good-as-you-need", ( a locomotive's horn is not the goal) or is it worth replacing them. I...

I recently bought a sick speed horn for my 2013 sxl and I was wondering how people have installed it in the center of their grille like the pictures shown on the optima store website. Does a custom bracket have to be used? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

So yesterday my sickspeed horn wasn't working properly - it would only sound one tone, very quietly. On my drive back home it worked intermittently, reverting back to normal a few mins into the drive. Any idea if this could be a loose connection, or maybe the relay? Or could it be the horn itself?

Any recommendations on a new horn? This wimpy stock horn is killing me.

I just got my Sick Speed Horns and unfortunately I don't have a garage to use to install them. I am in an apartment complex in the DFW area and don't have the space to take my bumper off and do the whole installation. My question is does anyone know a shop in the DFW area that is trust worthy...

  17. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
So I honked my horn for the first time the other day and it was the most pathetic excuse of a horn i have ever heard. I was hoping to find a set of 2 white horns. I know SickSpeed has a set of 2 horns but not that big of a fan of their sound...any suggestions on a different set of horns?

Sporty design with sturdy yellow protective grille. Penetrating tone for more safety in road traffic. Ideal in tough off-road use. Definitely louder than the stock horn. Special thanks to black13sx & will20four for all their help and the ingenious mounting bracket! Much appreciated!

Does anyone have a photo or link to show how to use the exisiting horn connector with a replacement horn? Read through the threads and have read descriptions of a DIY (non shark) way to use the exisitng harness but I can't picture it in my head. Replacing the lame alarm horn. Thanks.
