  1. 4th Generation Optima (2016 - 2020)
Hi, everyone. My salesman told me that the 2019 Optima EX has an ECO driving mode, and that's what the Kia web site says as well "Choose your driving style - Comfort, Eco or Sport." And yet my 2019 EX only gives me the options "Comfort, Sport, and Smart". A Kia YouTube video defined "Comfort"...

Has anyone had a remote starter installed on their 2016-2018 Kia Optima LX Turbo Eco? I was thinking about having it done, but found out that there is no manufacturer version available for the LX Turbos. I called Kia Customer Service and asked about it. They stated that remote start is only...

To continue the apparent 'gamification' of high mileage, let's compare 'ECO Levels'. This is what I usually get: I'm not sure how scientific this is. Last week, I was getting about 45 mpg and also had a level 7. This week, I'm getting more like 38mpg and still getting a level 7 (though it has...
  4. 4th Generation Optima (2016 - 2020)
Hey Group, I just wanted to check and see if anyone on here has the 1.6 Turbo engine with the Dual Clutch Transmission. My 2017 Optima is the Turbo Eco model and while I love it, I have questions about the reliability of the DCT. Has anyone had any issues with theirs? How do you maintain it...
  5. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
I'm just curious how you all utilize your eco mode. Do you never use it? Use it all the time ? Do you have it on when you hit the hwy and off on back roads, or vice versa?

Hey fellas/gals, New kid here. Just got into a 2015 KOH EX with Tech. Absolutely love my car. So far been enjoying my car for about 2 weeks and wanted to do a comparison test on MPG with ECO on/off with me driving as I do. I have a bit of a heavy foot. with the first fill up, I drove with...

I assume I know this answer.... which is NO Ha. Did or do the Hybrid Optima models have a "lifetime" eco score? or does it just reset each start of the car? On the Sonata it had a momentary score and then a master score. I found it fun and a nice incentive to drive more green.

My Optima has the Infinity Sound System and Nav. This past weekend, the sound on the stereo went out although the unit still has power (displays stations, volume, etc). I just have no sound for FM/AM/XM or Streaming Bluetooth. I do have sound for turn-by-turn directions. I have tried 3 different...

I know I personally bought my 2012 KOH to save on gas and it has done that for me. Just wondering what mileage everyone is at and what their ECO score is. For me I am at 55000KM with an ECO score of 1940.
  10. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
I have had my 2014 Optima LX for 3 weeks and have been running it in ECO mode. Has anyone tested MPG differences between ECO and "normal" mode? I would love to know if there are any gas savings.
  11. The Service Center
Purchased the car new mid Dec, and I'm noticing that when I'm driving in eco, and try to feather the accelerator, there's a stutter, or it bogs down unless you get on it. The 2010 Soul I had prior to the new EX also had the ECO drive, but never felt like this. Anyone else experience this?
  12. Hybrids
On our HSH after many test runs with Blue Drive (Eco) on and off (Black Drive) has provided 1-2 more mpg along with much better performance. Have any of you experimented with mileage tests with Eco off?
  13. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
I feel like the car has way more power with this off with little to no loss in MPG. A friend of mine that had the same car told me that i really dont need eco mode on. He states that i should only use it when on the highway on long trips with cruise control on. Any suggestions?

Reached the three leaves for 3000 ECO points! 98,368 KM or 61,123 Miles
  15. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
Does anyone use ECO mode for the smoother shifting points or do you actually save on gas? I've read all the older threads and it seems that the savings are trivial, what are your findings? (been a few months since older threads)

Thought I'd post the 2000 ECO Points achieved back in June 2013! Maybe it's the weather! 38C = 100.4F ** Pictures don't seem to preview properly, but are there when clicked.

I so much hate how I don't have control over turning the ECO button off and keeping it off on hybrids. Because everytime I turn the car on it will automatically go back on, it's like they're forcing us to use it even if we didn't want to, what the ****? Are we kids? We can't make our own...
  18. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
For those of you with this feature... Do you leave it on all the time when you don't feel like 'going fast'? Are there ideal times to use it? I ran one tank without turning the ECO on once and then another tank with never turning it off, to compare the mileage I got. ECO on gave me about 35...
