  1. 4th Generation Optima (2016 - 2020)
See picture. This power socket/connector on the horn sits firmly, and I do not know how to loosen it. I dare not use violence beyond the three-finger strength. What is the secret of loosening it? It looks like the serration at the lower end suggests that I should squeeze there, but there is no...
  2. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
Hi guys, apologies if this is the wrong forum or if this has been posted before. I had searched before I attempted this to see if anyone else had tips for doing it but didn't find anything. I wasn't sure if this was going to be an easy process or if I was going to break something or have to...

On my 2015 Optima, the terminals on the battery are covered in fancy plastic housings (my first car that has had this as most older cars just had the terminals out in the open). When connecting your amp's power cable, did you remove this power terminal housing or maybe cut a hole into for your...

I'm looking to hardwire a USB cable behind the dash so I don't have to have anything plugged into the cigarette lighter. Can't stand it. I've done a few splicing projects before, but I've always used someone's DIY. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to volts and amps and all that...

Hi All, Quick question... I have a '12 SX with navi and currently play my iphone 4s with a knock-off kia ipod cable that I got on amazon. I'm going to buy a 5s, and was wondering if there are any 30 pin to lightning adapters I can buy that will allow me to keep using the same cable. Thanks!
  6. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
So apparently I forgot how to car and while changing headlight bulbs I must have disconnected the hood latch cable. Theres a section where the cable has a ball tip that connects into a \/ type connector. Now I can't open the hood and I'm at a loss as to how to open it. I could bust out my SX...
  7. Interior and Exterior Modifications
So does this one cable get installed after the relay and before the ballast on the driver side? I thought there would be 2 considering the fix that required the 2 radioshack capacitors. Please let me know where in sequence does this one cable go? Thanks in advance!

I have a ipod touch 4th gen. If I just connect the aux in cable, it sounds fine but I have to get the volume up to about 18 for it to be decently loud. Now if I plug in the ipod usb cable in and also the aux in it sounds amped up, so basically I can play it at the desired volume at around 10-12...

Hey, I have a 2013 SX and I broke the iPod/iPhone AUX USB Input Audio Adapter Cable, (don't ask how or why :$) and I'm wondering where I could buy one ... preferably in Canada. They are $35 bucks at the Dealership which I think is a bit of a gouge. Thanks and cheers, RJM :D

I have my ipod classic connected to my Optima (with Navi) and it too often loses its connection. This almost never happened to me in other cars with standard ipod/mp3 cables. Is this a problem with our cars or with my cable? Any one have similar issues and what is the fix? Thanks-Chris

Hi all, Most amp install kits come with 17ft. of power wire. I've got 15ft of wire from a previous install, and I'm wondering if it'll be enough. I don't think it will, actually, but does anyone know, by chance, exactly how much wire they used in their own amp install?

Anyone know how long it will be before they release a cable for the iPhone 5 to plug in?

Thinking about buying a Porter Cable 7424Xp was wondering who is using them and whats your opinion on them. I use to just hand wax but they say there are faster and much more effective. Also what wax and polishes are you guys using. I have a Black Hydrid trying to keep it NICE;)
  15. 3rd Generation Optima (2011 - 2015)
Hey guys, I have a 2012 kia optima ex without UVO, what will the kia usb/ipod cable allow me to do? Control music through the ipod or through head unit or both? Play pandora from ipod?
  16. Engine and Technical Discussion
Hello, I have a 2006.5 LX V6. I foolishly disconnected the cable to the hood latch while changing out the bulb on the driver side headlight. I closed the hood before reattaching the cable to the clip just to the left of the headlight. Now, of course, I cannot open the hood. I can see the cable...

I have been looking on here for someone else who has been using the Kia iPod cable daily, but I haven't found any comments... I used to leave a 30 GIG iPod connected to my old Clarion head unit and leave it on random. It was in the glove compartment so I only took it out of the car to refresh...

The manual says not to use the ipod cable that comes with the ipod because it could damage the car...has anyone used the standard apple cable with this car? i just cant see spending $38 just for a cable...i know its cheap compared to other vehicles, but its still $38 that could be spent elsewhere.
