I bought my Optima SX in June. I have yet to get anything above 17 mpg with 800 miles on it as of now. Usually get around 14.4 mpg. My dealer tells me that it has to break in and that the period would be 2,500 to 3,000 miles before I start getting good gas mileage. Now I have had many, and I mean many new cars in my life and I have never encountered this problem. Usual break in on most cars is 500 miles. I have almost 800 miles and yes I know I need to give it till at least 1,000 but at the rate I drive getting to 2,500 to 3,000 miles will take several months. Does anyone have any suggestions on this. My dealer basically refused to do anything unless there is a light on. Some one said it sounded like the voltage to the waste gate actuator. Any help would be appreciated.
