  1. Need Kia Key Code

    3RD Generation Optima (2011-2015)
It's all good--we're all trying to be helpful here to our fellow forum members, not trying to drive them away.
  2. Brake noise inside cabin

    Hybrids
Actually it is quite possible for moisture to get into the brake lines and eventually break down the brake fluid--brake hydralic lines and brake seals are not completely impermeable. Also, air can possible make its way into the brake reservoir (if you ever open the cap to the reservoir to top...
  3. Optima Hybrid or Optima PHEV?

    Hybrids
LOL up here in the Sacramento, CA area summer daytime temps regularly reach high 90s, so not sure what I was thinking when I bought my black-on-black SXL...
  4. Need Kia Key Code

    3RD Generation Optima (2011-2015)
Not sure who your comments were directed towards--given that there are/were only two other folks who commented in this thread (so far), I would hope that it wasn't meant for me. Granted I didn't directly answer your question but my comment clearly implied that the dealer would/should be able to...
  5. Bought 2018 Kia Optima SX unseen. Missing features I thought were standard. Can I get them added?

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
Call me a technology materialist but stuff like that is why I chose to get an SXL rather than the Hybrid (2018) since I really liked and wanted the Surround View Monitor feature (there are probably a few other minor features that are available on the SXL but not on the hybrid but the SVM was the...
  6. Surprising fuel ecomony.

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
LOL it is possible to achieve high-30s (or even 40s) MPG in the 2.0T, you just gotta find the right scenario--I can get that driving back westward from Lake Tahoe/Truckee (California), as over 1/3 of the ~90 mile drive is going downhill from ~6600 ft. to ~200 ft. Even higher MPG if I cheat by...
  7. Need Kia Key Code

    3RD Generation Optima (2011-2015)
Shoot I had to ask my salesperson for the key code when I had discovered (after having read through the entire owners manual) there was no such key code tag attached to either of my two remote key fobs.
  8. Knocking sound when breaking

    Engine and Technical Discussion
Please note that I was not trying to ridicule the OP's spelling ability but rather, trying to find some humor in his/her typo.
  9. Knocking sound when breaking

    Engine and Technical Discussion
Funny tangent--it's funny how in this case an inadvertent typo can completely change the meaning of a sentence. Read the OP's first sentence again and tell me that it can't be read in a different way... ;)
  10. Adaptive Cruise Issues

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
Yeah I have found that the ACC can be hit-or-miss on curves; case in point--there is this one transition curve freeway on-ramp on my commute where I hit it while my ACC is set to 70 mph, then watch as the ACC bleeds off speed (down to 65 or so) even though there are no vehicles in front of me...
  11. Surprising fuel ecomony.

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
Yeah you sorta kinda have to take the fuel economy readings/calculations (on the display) with a grain of salt; with my car there have been times in which the running overall MPG (resets between fillups) at the start of a trip will be "A", then at the end of the trip the trip MPG (viewable for a...
  12. Automatic High Beam on '19 LX

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
I guess that begs the following question--can someone else here with a 2019 LX check to see if their car has HBA as well?
  13. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assistance Light Comes on

    The Service Center
Does it occur during the same exact time period, and/or on the same exact stretch of interstate? Does it occur when you drive on that interstate in the reverse direction? I ask because you indicated that it comes on "every time" you're driving on the interstate, thus implying that it doesn't...
  14. Surprising fuel ecomony.

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
Interesting numbers there; given the final drive ratio on the '11, your car does have a slight advantage over mine as far as acceleration torque is concerned...might also possibly explain the relatively-lower fuel economy numbers you've been getting.
  15. Automatic High Beam on '19 LX

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
On the Kia website, for LX there is listed feature called "Auto Light Control"--wonder if that includes/covers the High Beam Assist feature that you believe is in your car? Are you positive that your LX has the HBA option? You'll know it's there if it automatically switches back and forth...
  16. Worn steering coupler issue

    Canada
LOL you Canadiens get a better basic/comprehensive warranty compared to us U.S. folks--100 KM translates to 62.5K miles; our basic warranty is good to only 60K miles.
  17. 2019 Optima FE Less Than Expected MPG So Far

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
For the California folks--currently the gas being pumped is "summer-blend" fuel; in theory it should result in slightly-improved fuel economy (vs. winter-blend fuel) since it burns more efficiently due to higher energy content.
  18. 2019 Optima EX OEM Tires Are Junk

    Wheels, Tires and Suspension
If it's the same as on previous recent-vintage model year Optima EX trims, I'd guess that they're Kumho-branded tires. I can't really compare the tires on my 2018 SXL to yours since mine are Michelins but FWIW I have 25K miles on them and AFAICT the tread is wearing very nicely--i.e., no...
  19. Ventilated seats not blowing ANY air!!! (2018 SX)

    4TH Generation Optima (2016- )
Yeah IMHO the seat air flow volume on the Optimas could be better--if you're wearing thick-layered or multiple layers of clothing, then the air flow against your back/butt is not as easily felt.
  20. Window not rolling up 2015 Kia Optima

    The Service Center
Re: warranty--what year is your car? IIRC the Optima basic warranty is 5 years/60K miles.
