What do you guys think about trading in 2013sx...

Just curious what you guys think about trading in a 2013 sx with 100k trouble free miles for a 2019 ex with premium. The biggest things I was looking for was Android auto and the smart cruise control to help with my daily nightmare commute. Looks like the decontented a few things like power folding mirrors and heated rear seats. But it has the latest safety tech and better mileage. It's also 100k newer.

I'm curious would people just keep the 2013 or if buying a 2019 upgrade to the sx? If so why? Or even go for another brand for Android auto and smart cruise. Thanks!!!

I've been in your shoes about wanting to upgrade and I keep telling myself to wait.

    - Next calendar year should bring an all new Optima and with the details we've been getting about the new Sonata, things looks pretty good for the Optima since they've always shared powertrains. So maybe the new 2.5 T pushing 300 hp with rumored all wheel drive and an 8 speed auto. This would satisfy the power requirement you have on your current SX. The 2019 EX gets you a clunky DCT and a much less powerful engine.

    - Your engine is covered pretty much until the wheels fall off so there's no need to fret about engine issues.

    - Those incentives look really good but I'd hate to have a new car and then next year something awesome comes out and it wouldn't be financially wise to trade again. And yeah they're always introducing new features but I think the 2021 Optima will be the one to get. I'm hoping at least.

Hah thanks for the feedback. We need a trade in itch support group.

Even worse for me is I just bought 4 new snow tires and rims! And the 19 optima ex uses 17 inch tires!

Not to mention we just paid cash for a loaded 2019 Sorrento ex with touring package so I'm kinda out of money for awhile. The $5000 bonus cash was too hard to pass up when the 11.5 year old Jeep ac gave up the ghost and was big bucks to get fixed.

I will say used sedan prices have spiked recently due to the recent flooding problems destroying many vehicles.

Definitely smart to keep waiting but was just wondering what everyone thought.

I could not imagine taking a big step down in power, but it depends what's important to you. Personally, I'm waiting to see what comes of the Sonata N line, or Optima SX comparable.

Yeah I need to test drive it but I'd sure like getting better mileage. With my nightmare commute I want the smart cruise control. And I never really get to open it up sitting behind medded up morons anyway.

I had a 2012 EX turbo and loved it. Unfortunately last year I got sideswiped by someone going through a red light and it was totaled. (Besides the fun of extracting my car from on top of a fire hydrant that I was knocked into and knocked the top off (water everywhere) . So I had to buy wheels in a hurry I went wanted better gas mileage too. I ended up getting a great deal on Niro Touring that I really like in spite of the lower power, it is convenient, has all the safety features, and on a 200 mile out and back trip I got 56 MPG last week. Local driving I get ~ 45, but I do not drive it fast (Your mileage may vary lol). But in eco - it begs to be driven economically, The Sports mode is adequate to get onto highways although not like the Optima. So that takes care of the $$$ for gas. Try one, you may like it. Try the Sports mode, and the cornering is really good - the touring model has lower profile tires. The EV might be better, I did not get to try that last year.

Also the great deal I got was at the final hour of the Memorial Day sales week, May 31st at 9 pm lol. They stayed until 11 just to get me out with the car that day. I had looked at it earlier and they kept calling me. Seems your timing is for the same sales event.

    SX Turbo
Yeah this is always a tough one. I went from a 2013 LX to a 2016 SX and couldn't have been happier except the loss of HP between '15+. Needless to say I won't go back now, the SX is loaded with features and the few things that make the difference to me (aka no matter how much I modded my LX i would have never had) included (but not limited to) turbo, moon roof.
Personally, you're going to miss the feeling of an SX if you step down but may get better gas mileage as a result.
In all honesty, I have convinced myself i'm keeping my '16 for a "very long time" until I read this thread and mention of a 300HP 2021. lol .
