Hi from Omaha (with a ripped driver's seat!)

Hi everyone! I have been a member for a few years, but never had a need to post - car has been fantastic. My only issue is how quickly the driver's seat ripped out. I am trying to identify the correct seat cover part.

The car is a 2012 Kia Optima SX
    Sports Package
    Technology Package

The seats are black air vent seats with two tone black and mesh grey. I would like to find the correct part and have my auto upholstery friend install it. Which one of these parts would be the correct one? They don't mention the color, just type 1 or 2, etc.

Can't post link to list of parts, sorry.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

    Trun.

Hello and glad to see you posting long time member, first time poster.

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your drivers seat there.

Unfortunately, there were no pics or links, so not sure between the options.

Why not just go to the dealer and have them provide you with a quote.

Then you could take that to your upholstery friend to have them do it?

    -David

I did, they quoted like $1,200, but didn't give me anything to take away.

I am going to call the local junk yard to get part numbers, maybe even find something.

Oh wow, that sucks. I would ask their parts department to provide the part number for you so you can check around.

I bought a used seat for $120 from LQK used auto parts, cleaned it up and installed it. Looks pretty good. By the way, that is cheaper than just buying a new heating element! It's nice to save more than $1,000!
