This is the harness before I add the camera step down module..

New video connector soldered for camera input to alpine.
Red and orange/white wire is camera 6v+ and reverse wire input from car...that is found in driver kick panel...upper white 43 pin plug..pin 8...it's a blue wire..reads 12v+ when car is in reverse.
The blue module is alpines version of the PAC SWI-JACK.
The black module is a PAC TR7...that bypasses the alpine video safety for me.
Also added the bullet female connector so that once I add amps I can just plug in my remote turn on wire.

Now...for those that may want to leave the factory amp and just upgrade head unit

Metra/Axxess makes 2 options..HYKIA-01 and HYBL-04...both of these will make new radio work with SPDIF input of factory infinity amp.

As for the factory bluetooth mic and camera connetions they would need to be hardwired. I got lucky and the alpine harness that came with my PerfectFit Kit was prewired for bluetooth mic and had speaker wires where the camera wires are so i just soldered on lol

here is a pinout of the nav harnesses showing what wires areAlpine 8" X008U to replace Navi-screen-shot-2015-11-08-9.01.32-am.png

Thanks for that...so it looks like its really not that hard to replace the Stock SXL nav unit using the interfaces shown with pretty much any aftermarket head unit (of the correct size)....AND still use the factory amp......And ALL the HVAC controls are taken care off by the Non-nav control panel replacement ?.........Darn, was it really always that simple ?......I have seen SO many "Premium" nav unit people on here not attempt to do this because of thinking they would lose all control of their heating and A/C !....great job my friend !

I've been doing car audio for almost 15 years now...when I got this optima the last concern I had was what I could do to the stereo lol

Just wait until you guys see the audio install...it's gonna be nuts

Are you running new wires to everything and just leaving the old factory stuff there?

If I just changed the head unit with the adapter.... And have a quality head unit... Will the sound quality improve or is that limited by the infinity system?
