I just bought the 2012 EX Optima with Premium Pkg , 2.4L ! Did not want the Nav Pkg - already have TomTom . Msrp was $27,220 dealer took off $1,470 for $25,750 price. Then $1,000 rebate ( owned a Accord ) & $500 rebate (finance rebate by Kia) = $24, 250 before taxes . I was very happy with this price - plus I got $3,800 trade on my 2002 Accord SE with 135,000 k miles. Hope this gives you an idea of what the dealer can do for you - plus do your homework online and play hard ball !!!

I'm in the same situation, once you get obsessed with the mpg thing, you'll never be able to drive the car normally as you usually do, you will try to take advantage of each opportunity to coast & lower your mpg or in my case L/100Km here in Canada

How did you get your car to 310 hp? what bolt ons and mods? Did you dyno your car and you are talking about 310 bhp right? not 310 whp?

The dealer was not helpful. The third time it was in the shop I asked if they did an alignment check and they said no because they did not think there was an abnormal pull. They kept telling me it was just the electronic steering. They did not check alignment until I demanded they put it in writing that I requested an alignment check and they were denying it...then they checked the alignment and of course it was within specs. It was at that point that I was just glad to get rid of it. I had no faith in them being able to fix it and I did not want to drive it any more because I felt it would always pull left. I had read about too many other Optima owners like me and there is no good answer to the pull left issue.

Dr.BellPepper, hope you get to that Sweetspot and get your 29+ mpg. I just bought my 2012 LX a week ago and I am avg. 22.5 MPG, 90% city, hope I can obtain 29+ with some highway miles, good luck! Jim8
