    5 Tire Rotation

When we bought our new SXL I stopped by Discount Tire and bought their certificates to cover tire damage and lifetime rotation and balancing. Today I took it in to have the first balance and rotation done and when I told the guy I wanted a 5 tire rotation I got that old "deer in the headlights" look. Then he said, "How do you want them rotated?" So, as I like to be prepared at all times, I handed him a piece of paper with the rotation pattern on it. He looked at it and said, "Oh, can I have this to staple to the work sheet?" I told him that was why I brought it. Got them rotated and balanced and then put the paper in the glove box with their paperwork so I'll have it next time.

    And you have non-directional tires?

I have an sxl but haven't looked to see if the spare is a full size or not. I don't believe these stock tires are directional, at least I hope not so I can rotate freely myself

If you didn't buy an aftermarket spare, I can't imagine it's a full size... I thought the oem tires on my sx were directional, but it's been two years since I replaced them and I don't recall.

Why do they have to be non-directional? Put rear DS tire to front PS and vice versa, and rear PS to front DS and vice versa. Facing same direction, what was outer tread is now inner tread.

Not really sure why you'd want to rotate a spare tire....

I dont think sxls even have spare tires as most of 2013s dont come with them to begin with.

My 2013 SX-L has bi-directional tires (meaning I can do a traditional rotation with them.. which has already been done at 7500 miles) but no full size spare... let alone a full-size chrome "Limited" 5-spoke wheel in the trunk; so doing a 5 tire rotation would not work for me.
