Saw this and figured i'd share...
For those that have done the front turn signal upgrade to switchback LEDs or are thinking of it (DIY thread: http://www.optimaforums.com/forum/66...n-signals.html ), VLEDS is coming out with a new LED called the V3 Triton. In short they're pretty bada$$. This will be the first switchback to offer lumens of equal & better for the orange turn signal. They also are available in solid colors.
V3 Switchback Specs:
White: 600 lumens
Amber turn signal: 430 lumens
Power consumption: 3 x 3W leds= 9W
50,000 hrs expected life
Stock 1157 bulbs comparison
"low" amber: 38 lumens (8.3 W)
"high/turn" amber: 402 lumens (26.8 W)
ALSO, I currently run the 92 led switchback by Vled, estimated specs on those:
46 leds per color, led type of ~1210= ~6-7 lumens each MAX
>approx. 276-322 lumens per color
Cost is $100 plus shipping. Compared to much weaker JDM joy and 92-vled switchbacks that go for $45 +shipping and $65+ shipping, respectively. You still need to use load resistors to prevent hyper flash
