Good find! Read some info about the BMW 330e plug in hybrid and they are using a 2.0T with an electric motor, it would be nice for KIA to do one as well. I always figure having an engine with a decently powered gas engine to handle the weight, while having an electric motor to boost the power and provide a good battery only driving (say 50 miles) range would be a nice thing. We will have to wait to see what the future brings.

Another good video/article with Bob Lutz about the Stinger:

Good find! It's interesting to hear him speak of how the Korean vehicles had good mechanicals but their design was lacking. Of course we are now having some issue here and there but I guess it is not at a level that puts it into recall territory. Plus, Hyundai/KIA listens to their customers and the press and make running changes throughout a model cycle. He also says the car is of high quality but the lever to unlock the doors don't match up with the rest of the material in the car. Pricing is an area he hopes they do well, he hopes they price it well, which is not cheap but of the quality that it is. Oh, the badge he doesn't like. I wonder what they could come up with that looks premium to match the design of their vehicles now.

I do wish the presenter had stayed with them to capture their conversation or maybe someone could have them sit down to discuss design like Autoline does from time to time. I would be interested in watching that. I enjoyed this video!

TBF, I'm absolutely underwhelmed by the looks. I understand this is all very subjective -- front is ugly, and doesn't look posh and sporty, the sides are just 2015 Optima, and rear is Audi S7(?) and Dodge Charger-esque. Interior is a mish mash of Audi and Mercedes. I only hope it drives really well. Reviews are not half bad. I hope when the car comes out it does well for the brand overall.

I know Kia can do better, just look at 2017 Cadenza. If you ignore the badge, it's an exquisite automobile. Alex on Autos calls it a credible ES alternative, and I agree.
