I got my wind noise fixed yesterday at the dealer. The problem was a gasket which goes where the side mirror attaches to the car. Apparently it is easily damaged during assemby. The repaced this gasket and it solved the problem.

I sent off this e-mail to Kia.com this morning:

    Good morning,
Yesterday, 02,21/12, I heard a wind leak from the driver's side door for the first time. Usually when I was traveling at approx. 50 miles per hour or higher I could hear it. Doing some research yesterday, I read on the optimaforums.com that many owner's were having a similar issue.

    Thank you,
    Christian

Can you tell me the part number on your work order for this? My service manager is asking.
He didn't see a gasket except one that comes with a new mirror.
I'm taking mine in on Friday to have it addressed.

    Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have a part number. I got it repaired at Gateway Kia in Warrington, Pa. Service guys name was Tim. If you put tape all around the black plastic part of the mirror where it connects to the glass and the nosie goes away, then you have the same problem.

Any chance you could call them, ask for the part number, and then post? I doubt they'll give me information regarding your vehicle.

They ordered and are replacing the track molding that goes around the window. I will let you all know the resolution, if this is it.
