Info on swapping a lease? 15 Hybrid EX

I'd like to get out of my lease early (1 year left) and have seen some of the lease swap sites. Has anyone here had any experience with swapping/transferring a lease either with one of these sites or just face to face? My payment is very low but I've got the EV itch and want to go all electric.

Which EV are you planning to get? If it's the Kia Soul, then I would just talk to the dealership.

oh ok. How about you drive a Turbo for a year and I drive a Hybrid, lol?

To be honest, the subject of lease swapping is something that comes up very often, however, in 6 years of me being on this site, I don't recall a single success story. See if Chevy wants to work with you. A dealership could either buy your car or cover the remaining lease payments, which ever is cheaper. However, I wouldn't do it for the Bolt. Tesla 3 maybe.

Thanks. I can wait until the end of the year if I need to. I'll just need to pull the lease ahead 3 months. I've got no interest in a Tesla.

I did it at Worlds Largest Lease Marketplace | Swapalease.com . I leased a Challenger Sep. 30 and decided I didn't want it. I think the timeline was 90-120 days. I had several nibbles before the real customer came along. The nibbles were on the east coast, the buyer turned out to live 20 miles away.

The worst part was dealing with Ally. I call them Axis now.
I don't know if all lease companies are equally doofus and astonishingly disorganized and incompetent, but that is Axis to a T.

My buyer was patient and after the paperwork was finally mailed--Ally again screwing up by not including a FedEx mailer for the buyer to go back TO Ally...the buyer had to phone ME to get the address and individual's name to send the purchase paperwork to. The only other people I've run into this inept are feds like the IRS, staties like the tax office, and the occasional car salesman. You wonder how they get their socks on in the morning.

So, yes, swapping/selling out a lease DOES work. Patience. A search will turn up other companies than the one I used. Good luck.

If the timeline is that long then there's no sense in going that route for me. The Bolts are starting to get discounted and are not selling that well right now. They'll possibly be deeply discounted by year's end.

I read on GM blog today that some dealers are discountng Bolts $3,000 while others are adding to the MSRP. See: The Chevy Bolt is a Pricing Paradox for Dealers

This is true for every car, not just Chevy Bolt. Some dealers are volume driven and operate on slim margins, while others stick to MSRP and when they sell the car $3K above invoice, it pays for all the time they spent drinking coffee.
