SX issues after two months

I'm new here. I live in Santa Barbara, CA. I've been lurking around this forum since I bought my optima exactly two months ago. I have a few issues I wanted to post here and get feedback. I don't know if I should go to the dealer.. or if it's too late for that matter. Here is my rather short list of issues both known and unknown

1 - Waste Gate sounds like a can of pennies under the hood. It seems to be getting louder as well.

2 - After starting the car and immediately shifting into reverse my transmission (assuming) thumps into gear and knocks the car. Each time it happens it startles me.

3 - When driving on the highway at about 65MPH I hear a rattle noise either in my driver side dash area or under the hood. I can easily recreate the noise at around 2000RPM. I can also recreate the noise in 2nd gear at 2000RPM and also sitting still revving the engine. I understand vibrations will happen, but combined with the waste gate happening when I accelerate then this constant vibration at cruising speed it's starting to drive me nuts.

4 - Every time I start off from a stop I hear a knocking shifting noise in the seat back of my drivers seat. It doesn't happen 100% of the time but combined with all my other noises it's starting to be more and more noticeable.

5 - Fuel door doesn't open when I press the button. I can repeatedly press, hold, shake, gently press the fuel door button but it wont open. I usually have to let it sit a few minutes and try again. It will eventually open.

6 - Not really an issue since its an easy fix. There's a plastic tab in the door handle of every door. Two of these tabs rattle when I play bassy music.

I only bring the rattle issues up because I can't seem to catch a break from my fustration. I love to go for drives after work with the radio off to ease my mind. It's my time to relax because I love my car and I love to drive. When I hear the waste gate I start to feel sad but since there was nothing to be done I accepted it. Then I set cruise control at 65 and I hear the vibration in the dash. To hide the noise I'll start my music and the tabs start to rattle. I can't seem to get away from these rattles lol.

Please don't take this as "I hate my car! It sucks". This is a fantastic car and I love it to death. I just want these issues fixed. Unfortunately I can't just pull up to the dealer on my lunch break or go after work because I work 9-6 weekdays and the dealer is located 40 minutes away. It's hard to go on the weekend because the service department is only open for 4 hours on Saturday and closed Sunday. I also don't know if 2 months is too long to go back to the dealer. A lot of these issues just started happening within the last 2 weeks.

There are some things that I dont like about mine as well. Its still a nice car. And you are correct, no way you are getting all of that fixed on a Saturday. Not sure they will do much about any of it. Cant hurt to see what they can do for it. I would call and make an appt. That way they can have a car for you to drive while you leave it there. Its not too late after 2 months. The car is completely covered for 5y/60,000 miles. FOr everything but wear items anyway... I will just deal with mine. I dont think there is anything to be done about my issues and Id prefer them not using mine as a test mule. Not to mention my dealership left a horrible impression on me when I purchased it from them. I dont plan on even buying an oil filter from them if I dont have to...

All the issues you have described are warranty covered. Take it in, get a loaner, and get them addressed, unless you want to live with it as is.

What he said. Take the car in and give them a concise list of the issues and they should return it sans issues. All of that sounds like warranty stuff.

I believe I've experienced number 4 on your list. I'm like WTH is that? Let me know if they determine what that is; I'm not ready to fuss about it yet.

real quick. I think the gas door likes to stick a little bit. I went to fill up once and it didnt pop open right away. I pried up on it a bit with my fingers, hit the button, and it popped right open. Im sure a little silicone will help that.

less than a month and I also experienced #4

please report back about #4, I thought I was going insane, something in the backseat lol, my and my passenger both turned around to see if something was rolling around the backseat ...hmmmmmm

Knock on wood, I have 2K on mine so far and have not experienced any of the issues. Would be interested in hearing what your dealer says when you take it in. I actually think I may start a thread so we can list our feedback on Dealers, so we can list the issues and the positive or negative responses we have when dealing with warranty issues.
